The New PTA Executive chaired by Pastor John M. Etebom and ably supported by Deaconess Sowemimo (Vice Chair) Rev. Dr. Salubi (Secretary), Mrs Mordi (Treasurer), Mr. Akanle (Financial Secretary) Mrs Oni (Editor), Dr. Adegoke (Internal Auditor) and Mr. Akobi (Ex-Officio) swung into action immediately they were elected in July 2018 and continue to add their dedicated quota to the welfare of the school.
During the COVID-19 Lockdown months, the PTA under the executive saw to it that both the teaching and non-teaching staff were supported with financial assistance which took the form of cash donations. This gesture went a very long way and will always remain a reference point when Sunshine’s PTA is mentioned.
We also owe Dr. Adeyanju, Dr. Oyedun and Dr. Akinsulore many thanks for making sure that the COVID-19 workshop had us up and ready to protect our children and ourselves from COVID-19, both within and outside the school.
The COVID-19 workshop gave birth to the Sunshine’s COVID-19 Task Force, a body set up to brainstorm, activate and monitor the school’s compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines laid down by the government. The Taskforce members are:
Dr. John Etebom PTA Chairman
Mr. Tunji Akobi PTA EXCO
Mrs P.O. Mordi PTA EXCO
Dr. Jumoke Oyedele Parent
Ms. Folake Lawanson Parent
Dr. Olaitan Oyedun Parent
Mrs Lara Ademeso Staff
Miss Dorcas Dada Staff
Mrs. Joy Ansah Staff
Mr. Tomiwa Elusakin Staff
Dr. Bisi Anyadike Proprietress
The Task Force also holds the responsibility of making sure all our plans and new policies are fully implemented by checks and advice as we move along. Staff, children and parents are continually monitored and encouraged to adhere to the new normal. The Parent members will make regular random checks while the staff members will do so daily.
The commitment and support of the Task Force members has been both very encouraging and reassuring. We also thank the following parents, who demonstrated their understanding of the need of the school for additional financial support to meet up to guidelines as stipulated by government and suggested by the Task Force and duly paid the COVID-19 Levy.
- Dr. & Dr. Adewale Adisa
- Prof. & Mrs Akinrinade

This session Dr. Adeyemo graciously donated a state of the art standard First Aid Box fully equipped with everything needed. We are grateful. We are also grateful to Alhaja Akanbi for the donation of disinfectants and toilet cleaners. Staff welfare has not been left out either. Sunshine continues to benefit from the largesse of our parents, most especially when it comes to health issues. We will always remain indebted to our doctor parents and other parents working in the hospital most especially Mr. Lawal who only too willing help with NHIS matters.
The care and concern as the PTA rallied round Mr. Ogbonna, the school janitor is second to none. The help and assistance rendered to Mrs Ademeso by Mrs Mordi, Mrs Ayanleye and Mrs Oyetunji who rallied round her during a very trying time, prior and throughout the lockdown is leaves us immensely grateful.
This session and indeed the year 2020 have been demanding in all ramifications, but we are happy that the association has each time sailed through the stormy and returned to a place of calm, better informed and enlightened.
Up Sunshine PTA!
You are the BEST!
